The Billionaire's Fake Fiancée, a sexy romantic comedy by New York  Times bestselling author Annika Martin is LIVE!

I'm no Prince Charming, and the last thing I want is a Cinderella.

My instructions were simple: scour the city for a fake fiancée who's not my type at all. Have her on my jet Monday morning, dressed appropriately for a yacht vacation.

I need a woman believable enough to convince a certain client that I've changed my playboy ways…yet nothing like the supermodels and socialites I usually have on my arm.

Somebody too annoying to tempt me—no emotional entanglements, thank you very much. This is business only.

If she's unfazed by my looks and wealth, all the better.

Should be easy. Right?

Apparently not, because my people go and hire Tabitha. My hairdresser.

What were they thinking? Yes, I said annoying, but I didn't mean her, the most frustrating woman in the world.

Tabitha is sunshiny. She has a pet hamster. She loves Hello Kitty, and she gets under my skin like nobody else.

As if that's not bad enough, the minute we step on deck, she thinks that certain people on the yacht are up to something shady—based completely on her soap opera knowledge.

She won't listen when I tell her she’s being ridiculous.

But as the days go by, I find that we’re actually having fun. And our fake kisses are heating up. And suddenly her wild theories aren't sounding so strange after all…

My Review Rating: ★★★★★

I'm in awe.

It's not rare that we often fall heads over heels with a fictional OTP, but y'all, I was completely, utterly, wholly, extremely, absolutely ENGROSSED into Tabitha and Rex's story. Reading Annika Martin's books always do that to me, her writing is like a supermassive black hole, the gravity of it so strong that it sucked in your surroundings and let you forget the world, existing only in the bubble her words had created.

I get what you're thinking: it's the usual play at the hot, grumpy billionaire with layers falling for the nobody fake fiance trope. How original can it even get?

If you are new to Martin's works, never let the title or blurb fool you (I admit, I was guilty of it once before). Her writing has a tendency to blow your mind!

"Tabitha knows how to tell a story to get a laugh - it's a talent of hers....but when I actually think about the stories she's telling, they're not funny at all."
Disguising itself as a contemporary romance plot, this book will leave you with a smile on your face and an ache in your heart. The love I have for Tabitha was instant, beneath her many layers of fun and bubbly personality lies a broken soul who had been hurt before. And despite how ruthless and impenetrable Rex made up to be, I loved seeing him falling in love. The entire process was beautiful.

Now, why do I think Rex and Tabitha is a breath of fresh air? It's because, underneath all the fun and flirting, I sense a genuine connection, their chemistry and understanding for one another were so palpable the "FEELS" jumped off the pages and right into my heart. How could you not fall in love with love?

Annika Martin has quickly become one of my favorite contemporary romance authors and her "Billionaire" titles may be just one of my favorites in the genre yet.

Some call him a rock god.
Others a celebrity bad boy.

Me? I call him the arrogant bastard who stole my concert venue.

His apology? To take me and my violin on tour with the band.
It's an offer I can't refuse, even if it does come with strings attached.

Because Rey Thomas isn't who he seems.

Life isn't pretty behind the deviant frontman's facade.
It's raw, ugly, and at times downright painful.
But it's real.
And far better than the lie he presents to the world.

The man behind the face of Dark Tide is beautiful in his chaos.
All I have to do is keep him alive long enough to see that too.

PLEASE NOTE:

DOWN BEAT deals firmly with the subject of mental illness and its associated effects on not only the sufferer, but those around them. If this is something you feel may be a potential trigger for you, I advise you stop, consider if this book is right for you, and if you decide yes, ensure you have a support person available.

Rey's story is an immensely personal one for me and I would love for you to experience it, but not at the cost of your own health and wellbeing.

My Review Rating: ★★★★★

Love me, hold me.
Tell me you're here to fix me.
Love me, hold me.
Tell me baby, please,
Tell me you can fucking save me.
~ Descent of my Mind (Dark Tide)

A poetic masterpiece.

I'm stripped bare and raw, my emotions are all over the place, I drained myself out of tears and my heart is just so f*cking full. The highs and lows, the ups and downs, I'm consumed by every word, every thought, and every emotion. I have no idea how Max Henry came up with those lyrics, but it hurt, they hurt, the words danced off the pages and like a knife straight into your heart and stabbed you in the soul. That's what Rey Thomas did to me.

"...they can't see what I can.
A man who makes a career out of his cry for help."

Down Beat is a story about the struggle with mental illness and its effect on yourself and the people around you. How it felt to lose control and slip into a coma that will free you from the spiral, told through Rey and Tabitha's point of view, it was brutal, honest and absolutely devastating, nothing could prepare me for the way it changed my life and opened my eyes to the struggle and knowing the backstory of what inspired this novel had me weeping, with tears of sadness, understanding and most of all, admiration.

"I am my mental illness, but my mental illness is not me."

I love Rey for Rey. My heart ached for him.

I love Tabby for being the one who noticed his aching cries for help and made the hardest decision with consequences she will have to face.

Rockstar romance with a soul, stage dive into this series if you're into a dose of reality and angst.

I will religiously stalk the rest of the series now because I am just so captivated by all the members of the band!

Excerpt

“Meredith,” he breathed after he broke their kiss.

Sam slowly opened his eyes to see hers still closed, as if she were memorising every second of it. He took this opportunity to stare at her beauty. The way her lips curved into a blissful smile. The way the rain had soaked the baby hair on her hairline. The way her eyelids fluttered as drops of rain landed on her lashes. Everything about her was beautiful. Everything about her was sweet.

And everything about Meredith Driessen was meant to be for someone else.

“Yes?” she asked in a soft voice as her fingers squeezed his arm.

“Can I take you home yet?” The gentle nod she made was one he loved. “Thank you,”

he whispered then placed a chaste kiss on her lips. Sam held her hand and led her towards his Jeep.

The booming in his chest was proof that only Meredith made him feel such things. Not even Beth had. It only made Sam wince. He had treated Meredith poorly. But he had his reasons. It was because of this. The Meredith Effect. Now that he had it, he was scared to be without her lips or the sight of her.

Suddenly, Sam felt his arm being pulled.

“Wait,” she demanded.

“What’s wrong?”

Meredith raised her umbrella higher, to protect her from the rain. “You can’t just kiss me like that and then expect me to forget that I’m dispensable to you. You ignored me for two weeks, Sam.”

He tugged on her hand and brought her to his chest. The thump of their bodies colliding was welcomed and savoured. And once Meredith’s free hand was firmly on his chest, he wrapped his arms protectively around her back. He peeked down at her questioning blue eyes. “I know. I’m really sorry. My life isn’t what I had expected it to be like. I … I never thought you’d even look my way, Meredith. I’ve wanted to be yours since I was thirteen,” he revealed.

Her brows met as she pursed her lips at him. “Then what took you so long?”

“I’ll never be good enough for you. Not then and certainly not now.” The realisation caused a tight squeeze of his heart.

She gave him a sincere smile before she let the umbrella cover them both. “Don’t—”

His lips found her forehead, stopping her from continuing, terrified of what would roll off her tongue. “I want to make sure you love someone worth your time, Meredith.”

“Sam,” she breathed. “You’re worth all the time in the world. Every second, of every minute, of every day in a year.”

“Why me?” he asked unbelievably.

“Why not you?"

“Because I’m no one special.”

Meredith grasped his shirt between her fingers. “That’s why. You have no idea how special you are.”

My Review

Rating: *5 Len Webster Stars!*

As always, Len Webster stories have a way of obliterating your heart, blast it into tiny bits & pieces, and leave you wondering how to glue it back together again after such an emotionally intense read. GOSH. I ached so much for Meredith, I SWEAR I've cried myself DRY. It was so painful to read, yet utterly, devastatingly and heartbreakingly beautiful.

Now, this book wasn't easy. I love Len's books but even I have to admit that it was a bit hard and confusing to get into the plot at first. It wasn't easy to get into the story, nor was it easy to love the characters, but you always find that Len's works will grow on you with time, just like how Sam and Meredith's story did.

Sam isn't your typical prince charming with a tortured past, I may have to go to the extreme of calling him an a**hole for the way he has been treating Meredith despite his strong feelings for her - but I understood him & the choices he has to make. It wasn't perfect and we didn't have to like it, but it was his choices that made him into the man he is today, and true to the core, I find myself loving Sam with every chapter.

The extent of Meredith's strength knows no bounds despite the frail & fragile front she has put up to protect herself with. In fact, I don't think she even realizes it herself. She was so understanding and forgiving - her empathy was her greatest strength. To see how life, how Sam, has kicked her down countless times was like seeing a wounded kitten being kicked to the curb. Yet, she still she fought hard for her happiness - it was absolutely inspiring.

I thought the writing style was brilliant! Not only the story was told from dual perspectives, the timeline also alternates between the past (seven years ago) and the present, and we, the readers, had the chance to fully experience Sam and Meredith's whirlwind romance - from the first touch of sunlight..to the last. It was beautiful.

However, just a little warning, the plot twist doesn't happen until over 90% (IKR?!) and it utterly crushed me. I'm talking about a full-on sobfest and ugly cry moment. I see what you did with that ending Len, you almost broke my heart! (not that it wasn't broken enough from the start...)

This book was, for lack of a better word, enchanting. So much drama, angst, and raw emotions that made your heart pinch, but you just can't help but be pulled into the feeling. It was raw, painful, tragic...but so very real. AND OH SO VERY ADDICTING!

About the Book

True power is never held by good men, only the most perfect of villains. And she and I are both villains...

I stole her, and she's so very angry. The cartel princess doesn't like being a pretty little pawn. She fights me when she should fear me. But oh, how her defiance excites me.

She would kill me if she could, and I'd ruin her if I had an ounce less control. What a twisted game we play with sweet threats and cruel promises. I crave her madness in the most depraved ways because I know she'll be so beautiful when she bleeds.

A queen who could set the world on fire and a king who would call it rain. Two very bad people who want very bad things are never safe together.

Some love stories have no heroes.

My Review

Rating: 5 "Bad is the new Black" Stars

Once again I've found myself wandering into the dark corners of literature, and this time around, I can't guarantee that I will walk out of it alive.

Ronan Cole isn't a man with power, he is THE power.

"Some men command power while others simply are power. This man wears it like a second skin, an impenetrable suit of armor.

Blood, gore and the whole mafia war, I've thought I've seen the worst with Crescendo (another hidden gem in the dark contemporary world) but to have Bad topping the violence...I am beyond words.

HOLY SH*T.

I should hate the very essence of Ronan Cole, he was manipulative, calculative and merciless and kills people to prove a point. A beast behind his suit and tie that serves as a leash to control the monster within. I couldn't find a single redeeming quality and everything about Ronan screams "DANGER". But, just like Camilla, Ronan Cole's allure knows no bounds. You craved for his presence until you drown in his power and aura, yet you wanted to despise him for the devil he is. His sense of control was frustrating to see yet drew us in like magnets and you desperately wanted to see him unravel.

"I want to watch Ronan snap, to lose control and destroy everything in his own beautiful inferno."

Camilla is Ronan's match in every way.
"A queen fit for a king...But not every king needs a queen."

But she is also his kryptonite, the seductress that tempts the edge of his control. Like a game of tug of war, when he strikes, she strikes back. When he pushed, she pushed even harder.

"Her beauty is in her destruction, rampant and hot. Her existence is grounded in the sole purpose to destroy"
"She's brimming with the most beautiful form of insanity, and I want to embrace it. "

Yet, he couldn't risk his empire just for the sake of his curiosity. When the shiny new toy loses her spark, will she be discarded or ended up worst....dead.

Cole's writing was incredibly poetic and hypnotic, I couldn't tear myself away and was completely immersed in the darkness of it all, yet craving every. single. bit.

I couldn't imagine how the sequel could be even Badder, but no matter how crazy things get, I couldn't wait!!

About the Book

I got the call. The dreaded call every child fears. My dad wasn’t well, and the man who had always been my everything needed me.

There was only one thing to do; pack up and head back to my hometown. I had finally made my dream life in the city with the great job and loving boyfriend. But was there really a choice not to go?
I found a wonderful job, a quaint house to rent, my boyfriend was working on joining me in Binghamton, and my favorite pizza place was only miles away. Life was good.

Until I met my neighbor.

It's been three years since I'd seen Aaron Walters, and my God is he all kinds of sexy gorgeous. Figures. He was supposed to be my forever, the man I grew old with, but he had different plans. How can a man who ripped my heart apart still trip me up? How can he make me still want him now more than ever?

I’m tempted, I’m drawn toward him, I’m completely and utterly unaware that I’m dating his biological brother.

Now two men own my heart. The question is, which brother will I choose?

Excerpt

Why? Why does he have to magically appear in my life? Moving back to Binghamton, I thought
about the possibility of maybe running into him, but I thought it unlikely, something that would never
really happen.
Boy, was I wrong.
What a sick joke life is playing on me.
Aaron Walters, the boy who broke me into pieces is my neighbor.
I can’t fathom the impact I feel already.

Seeing him in hip-hugging jeans and a tight, plain shirt did a number on me. It kept me up all night
as memories of what we used to have flooded my mind.
His voice.
His stature.
The way he used to kiss my neck.
The way I felt so protected in his arms.
Too bad his arms couldn’t protect me from his devastating, heart-breaking self.
And hell, he looked good. Too good.

He’s always been tall with handsome features and a chiseled jaw, but now he’s bulked up to the
point that I could see his abs flexing under his shirt, the same shirt that stretched over his biceps.
But it wasn’t his muscles or handsome features that once again made my heart ache, it was those
eyes. So bright, so blue, so kind, but still so sad. It reminded me of the first day I met him, of the day hestole my heart from every other man on the market.

Broken, unsure, yet yearning for love. It was all there, and like experiencing a moment of déjà vu, I
was transported back into a time when I felt invisible, like I could conquer anything with him at my side.

Once again, I was wrong.

My Review

* 5 So-What stars *

Meghan Quinn has been officially crowned the "Quinn of romance" in my book because once again she delivered a FANTASTICALLY BEAUTIFUL love story that made me fell in love, HARD.

"The harder you love, the harder you fall."

I've had the luxury of reading both My Best Friend's Ex (Tucker and Emma's story) and Twisted Twosome (Racer and Georgie's story), and if there's anything to be expected of Quinn's works, you can surely count on three things - humor, romance, and LOADS AND LOADS OF SNACKS. In this case, the spotlight was passed down from Little Debbies to Nirchi's Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it still amazes me how food can have such a significant role in a romance novel, heck, it even felt like a real character! Also, who doesn't love a girl who loves her food? *high five gurlll!*

The Other Brother was Aaron's aka "Smalls" story. Among the trio, Aaron was the calm and collected one, the one who will always stick by you no matter the circumstances, but his background remained a mystery and little was known about his history...until now. And it washeartbreakingly beautiful. I loved Tucker's big heart and Racer's unabashed sense of humor, but what I did not expect was to be consumed by Aaron so wholly, I didn't think I'd crawled out of the book alive. Not to mention, I was a huge sucker for second-chance romance (or third chance in this rare case), and The Other Brother was every bit of perfect.

Smalls, ironic to his built physique and bigger than life kind heart, didn't grow up with a beautiful family. Always compared to his biological brothers who were given away for adoption for a better life, he grew up with the notion that he wasn't good enough, and that insecurity bled into his adult life to the point where he let go of hisforever so that she could thrive and not being weighed down by someone like him.

"I’ve always been the other. The other friend, the other employee… the other brother. For once in my life, I want to be the only.”

But fate has other plans when Amelia stumbled back into his life years later and ended up living as his next-door-neighbor - the one he let go, the one that got away. As if fighting the old feelings weren't hard enough and having her treat you like a stranger wasn't a painful reminder of what he had lost, but the final nail in the coffin? She is dating his other brother - the better brother - the one he was constantly measured up to. Yet for once, he has every intention of winning her back and claims what was rightfully his all along - Amelia.

I've loved and cried and hurt for Aaron, but most of all, I was happy that he finally got the happily ever after he deserves.

P.S. I don't know how, but Aaron has become my favorite brother. I couldn't get enough!! Now that the trio's story is completed, what's next?

My Review

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by LWoods PR and the author. Thank you for the reviewing opportunity!**

God Save Me. The first thing I did after Loving Storm landed on my Kindle was:

1. Freak out because it is Carian Cole people!

2. Swoon because that cover is just effing hot!

3. Reread Storm and fell in love with them all over again.

4. Immediately dove into Loving Storm right after and probably bawled my eyes out at that beautiful ending.

5. Last but not least, engage in a Carian Cole readathon.

I can't stress enough how beautifully written this novella was! As this is a continuation from the first book of the series, I would strongly recommend to pick up the book first before diving into this one. One thing I loved most about Carian Cole is how effortlessly she delivers a romantic story filled with passion and love. Storm and Evie continue to prove readers that beautiful mistakes can lead to beautiful endings and true love does not burn out in the long run but only grew stronger in the end. I fell in love with Storm in the first book and even more after reading Loving Storm, the fact that we have a few chapters written in his POV was icing on the cake! Those are my absolute favorites!

Loving Storm was the perfect epilogue for Storm and Evie's story, which is sure to leave an imprint in Cole's readers' hearts.

About the Book

My name is Cassidy Porter…

My father, Paul Isaac Porter, was executed twenty years ago for the brutal murder of twelve innocent girls.

Though I was only eight-years-old at the time, I am aware – every day of my life – that I am his child, his only son.

To protect the world from the poison in my veins, I live a quiet life, off the grid, away from humanity.

I promised myself, and my mother, not to infect innocent lives with the darkness that swirls within me, waiting to make itself known.

It’s a promise I would have kept…if Brynn Cadogan hadn’t stumbled into my life.

Now I exist between heaven and hell: falling for a woman who wants to love me, while all along reminding myself that I must remain…

Unloved.

My Review

My heart literally breaks for the boy who grew up unloved and for the woman who lost her forever.

When two broken hearts were put together, they came out stronger than ever. Porter's family name is a curse that Cassidy was damned with since his father was convicted with the raping and murdering of twelve innocent girls. Being shunned and bullied by the society, Cass' mum uprooted their family to live with his grandfather in a literal cabin in the woods, exiled from humanity and devoid of any human connections. However, growing up was never easy for Cass as he lived with the fear that his father's murderous genes might be passed down to him, and it's only a matter of time before the monster manifests itself.
"Live quiet, and no matter what happens inside of you, you won't never be able to hurt someone."

Determined not to love and be loved, Cass continues to lead a solitary life even after both his mother and grandfather passed away, it was the only solution to make sure that his father's terrifying genes died with him. Until Brynn stumbled into his life and breathed possibilities into his lonesome future and tempted him to break his only vow. That he must remain...unloved.

I am beyond words.

Captivated from the start, Katy's writing reeled us in with such a heartbreaking story of loss, love, and sacrifice. Told from Brynn and Cass' POV, it was painful to read about Brynn's despair and hopelessness after the tragedy that struck her, but even more painful to read about Cass' bullying and the cruelty of his fate. I can't even begin to list down what I LOVED most about the book because it includes EVERYTHING.

Brutally honest, raw and emotionally gripping, Unloved is guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings...hard.

About the Book

Death is easy.
Surviving it? That’s the hard part.

Dr. Jake Jameson knows this all too well. Losing his mother at the age of eighteen, he walks away from his small hometown and the painful memories it holds, vowing to never return again.

Twelve years later, he finds himself driving back down the coast of North Carolina. When his father leaves him a small medical practice, he has no choice but to heed the call until he can find someone else to take it off his hands.

But coming back home means facing everything he left behind, including the one woman who might make it impossible to leave again.

Molly McIntyre has spent her entire life in one town. Taking over her parents’ small inn, she’s settled into a quiet, happy life. But all of that comes to an abrupt halt when Jake shows up at her door in need of a place to stay.

Molly loathes everything about this man, but she can’t find it in her heart to refuse his request.

After over a decade, these former lovers quickly discover what once burned brightly between them has only grown in their time apart. Soon they must decide if the choices they’ve made have led them back to each other for a second chance or one final goodbye.

My Review

Ratings: 5 stars

A fantastic read by new-to-me author J.L. Berg as she delivered an emotional, heartfelt and nostalgic read about small-town romance and second chances.

I've had my fair share of second chances romance but there's something so heartwarming and liberating about Jake and Molly's story that made them stood out from the rest. It amazes me how the author is able to create such memorable and relatable characters that I feel for them every step of the way - from the nostalgia of their childhood romance to the pain and angst of separation, the author perfectly captured the essence of love and lost. The writing was purely captivating!

Growing up on a small island, I know how wonderful it is to be part of a close-knit community, yet also experiencing the excitement and fear of leaving this small town for the big city, therefore I never blamed Jake for leaving, nor Molly for choosing to stay as I was also battling with that choice when I was younger.

Like the title of the book, Jake and Molly's story goes beyond their whirlwind romance. It was about how every choice they made has affected their lives and the people surrounding them and it was as real as it can get.

For a taste of both reality and fiction, you'd definitely want to give Jake and Molly a chance.

About the Author

I’m a California native, who lives in the South – Virginia to be exact. I still prefer sushi to fried chicken, avocados to okra, and I absolutely loathe humidity. I do love watching the seasons change though. My husband and I have been here for over a decade, and I still get giddy like a school girl every time it snows. It’s magical! I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and we’ve been blessed with two beautiful daughters and two rescue pups I like to call my “coworkers”. I’m obsessed with chocolate, minions, anything Harry Potter and I love to watch re-runs of Friends and Gilmore Girls!
