Reviewing Policy

Hello, fellow explorer!

If you somehow wandered into my "Reviewing Policy" page, I'd like to start off by thanking you for taking an interest in approaching me for a review request! Getting a book published is no cake walk, so here, you deserve that piece of cake for publishing your new book!

Preferred Genres

I'm pretty adventurous and love exploring new genres, but due to the overwhelming review requests, ARCs and my never-ending TBR pile, unfortunately, this made me picky about the books I accept for review. So if your book falls into one of these categories, feel free to send me a request by filling up this form and I will respond personally to each one of them!

Note: I review books in YA, NA and Adult age group.

  • Science Fiction
  • Dystopian
  • Fantasy
  • Contemporary
  • Paranormal
  • Horror (occasionally)
  • Historical Fiction (a new genre I'm looking forward to exploring more)
  • Children (occasionally - review will not be posted on my blog but to Goodreads and Amazon)

Preferred Formats

As much as I love paperback copies of books, I'm super economical and understand how much shipping costs can kill! Therefore, my main method of receiving review copies are:

E-ARCs (main): pdf and mobi files (Kindle) 1.
Paperback 2.
Hardcover (You are seriously way too kind!) 3.

Review Writing & Rating System

I am a huge softy for anything romance, so romance-centered plot will generally be favored - although I have a few exceptions to my obsession (check out The Enertia Trials by J. Kowallis!) - However, too much of anything is too much, so if a particular theme overwhelms the whole plot, I might cringe, roll my eyes at those "offensive" scenes and in the worst case scenario DNF the book (in that order). Other than that, I admire strong leads that can pack a punch, love a good romance, wouldn't mind sobbing all over my Kindle and jump into an action-packed scene at any moment.

All reviews were written from my own honest opinion to critique the book and NOT to personally offend the author in any manner, so please do not send me a hate mail if I gave your book a bad review. I try really hard to not sound condescending in my reviews because I'm a huge believer in the phrase "to each their own". So if I gave your book a low rating, it's because your story doesn't work for me and not because I hate you! ;)

If accepted, I will try to review your book as soon as my reviewing schedule permits me. I normally have approximately 8-10 books to review per month so it may take some time before I can dive into your awesomeness. My reviewing time can range from 1 week to 3 months depending on how hectic I am.

  • 5 (+/-) stars - Holy Mother of Literature! You literally blew my fragile brain to bits!
  • 4 (+/-) stars - I love the story and there are a few flaws which I can easily overlook. I would definitely give this book a reread!
  • 3 (+/-) stars - I'm not sure if I liked or disliked the book, so I'm stuck in the in-between.
  • 2 (+/-) stars - I tried to like it...but I'm cringing all the way.
  • 1 (+/-) stars - My brain had an aneurysm.
  • DNFed - I could come up with lots of excuses of why I did not pick up the book, but I'll be honest and say that I just did not care.
Where I will be posting my review
Blog 1.
Goodreads 2.
Amazon 3.
NetGalley (if applicable) 4.
