My Review 3.5 STARS ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. My first read by author Ainsley St Claire and I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to love Corrine and Jackson. Corrine has been Jackson's highly efficient assistance who helped him get his life together, but when a mystery stalker appeared to harass and threaten Corrine, Jackson stepped in for her safety. Sparks fly and suddenly Jackson saw her under a new light, one where he realized that his admiration goes beyond lust and stepping into the territory of... love. But with the danger lurking and after being burned by a man before, will Corrine take a second chance at love? Especially when Jackson was the same kind of man who broke her heart once? What I loved: 1. Corrine - How can you not love this independent, no-nonsense, highly efficient woman in heels. Everything about her "boss lady" personality had me looking up to her and admired her for the way she handles herself even in a demeaning situation. 2. I just love the mansion in Hawaii and those over the top poker games. Living the billionaire lifestyle does have its perks. So much fun! Things I wished would be executed better. 1. The entire mystery harasser plot. The book actually set off on a good start, nothing like a bomb threat scene to reel you in and keep you captivated, but somewhere in the middle, I felt as if the writing lost sight of that as the couple's dynamic took center stage, the mystery harasser plot took a backseat and was overshadowed by other things going on in the storyline. It was too much, too many, at the same time, it kinda threw off the pacing a little for me and I found myself speeding through the chapters. When it came to the reveal, I was a little bummed that I guessed it right from the start. 😂 2. Seconding my point in no. 1 with the pacing, I was unsatisfied with how Jackson seemed to "suddenly" viewed Corrine as something other than his assistant. Maybe I just missed the trigger and needed a reread, but I found this bit a little odd and would love it better if we have a little background from Jackson's POV just to get a feel of their relationship. I do love Corrine and Jackson so this is just a minor setback. Other than that, it was a good read and recommended to those who love a good billionaire/assistant trope with a side of thrill and mystery! A Christian Grey novel minus The Red Room.

The debut sports romance novel by new-to-me author Ashlyn Hope was a quick read that is guaranteed to sweep you off your feets.

Albeit a little too fast-paced and insta-romance for my liking, I can't help but be pulled into the Pro's journey in both her life and love. I dove into the story without knowing that it will be part of a series but I couldn't get enough of the bubbling romance and even craving more for "Meat". I do wish that there is more character development in the story, I'm particularly keen on learning about Pro's background story and perhaps would appreciate a little bit more angst, but overall, as a debut novel, the writing was surprisingly good and the story was worthwhile!

Looking forward to the sequel ;)

Shanora Williams is a new-to-me author, but one that I would definitely read more of as her characters were real, warm and incredibly funny! Piper and Matthew were a match made in heaven, so what if they met under the most non-typical circumstances? Loved their chemistry and the spark, a quick read to fill your night with laughter and romance.

"Love is chaos."

My first book by new-to-me author, Karina Halle who delivered a thrilling story about love on the slopes...literally.

Maverick was the leader of the search and rescue team, living life on the edge and fueled with adrenaline, he doesn't do relationships until the day Riley barged into his life with her sassy attitude and gorgeous smile. Just like an avalanche, she pulled him under her spell.

If the setting wasn't thrilling enough, Maverick and Riley's romance definitely will set your heart on fire. I loved how they succumbed to their attraction even though both of them tried to maintain their distance at first. Their banter and flirts came out so naturally, I was rooting for them from the start!

I loved the idea of the story, yet I wished that it would be slightly longer as things were pretty rushed at some parts. The SAR incidents were intense, and the plot twist at the end had our hearts broken into bits, but I wished some scenes would be dragged out a little just to give weight to it.

Nevertheless, I'd still be hunting the rest of the series!

Ratings: 3.5 "I like it, but I don't necessarily love it" Stars

Adam Kincaid is a freelance photographer who travels around the globe in the chase for the perfect shot. Putting himself in danger wasn't uncommon in his line of work, after all, it was the adrenaline and the adventure that he was thriving for. Until one fateful accident landed him in the hospital and in the arms of a beautiful nurse with fiery red hair - Alexandra Robbins. Soon enough, the romance was blooming and passion was exchanged, but one day Adam lost Alexandra, and he is determined to do anything to get her back.

I was having high expectations for this book because I lived for second chances romance, while the prologue started really strong and intrigued me to read the rest of the story, somehow I sort of lost interest along the way as I found myself struggling to get into the story.

I guess my major problem was the PACE. I felt as if everything was happening TOO FAST, TOO SOON and probably it will work for me as a 2 part series instead of a standalone. Sure it will be torture waiting for the second book, but I'd love to see their relationship more developed instead of being sooo "insta-lovey-dovey" - kind of like imprinting if I'm being honest, and I'm not 100% sold.

However, it was undeniable that the author's writing was emotional and heartfelt. I feel so much for Ally when she opened up about how controlling and selfish her family was. It hurts that she has been carrying the guilt around for such a long time and it only makes me love Adam more for making her realize that the guilt wasn't hers to bear.

Overall, it is a great read and would appeal to romance lovers seeking for a roller coaster ride of emotions.

For a plus-size, Emerson yearned to achieve her dreams of becoming an NFL cheerleader, even more so after she had a fallout with her best friend in high school whom she lost her virginity to. Heartbroken and alone, she had never been more goal-driven in her life, especially with the things happening at home. What she did not expect was to be caught up in Grant Sanchez's world. He was funny, incredibly flirty and determined to make her his - not to mention he was the best receiver in the NFL. Just when things are looking up, her best friend returns, and so are the old feelings that never really went away.

Let me start off my review by saying that I requested this book because it's a Rachel Van Dyken's book (love her so much!) and I was hoping that she could change my mind about love triangles (it has been my reading pet peeve ever since I outgrew my Twi-hard years). I have avoided any novels with love triangles in them like the plague but decided to give it another try.

Unfortunately, while I adore the characters and the beautiful writing, I still couldn't get past the whole idea of having two guys fighting over you. It's not you Rachel, I swear. And Fraternize left me with a mixed feeling in my gut.

On one hand, I devoured the book in a sitting. The moment it landed on my Kindle and it was 12 a.m, I forego any thoughts of sleeping because Rachel's writing does that to you. The same happened to me when I was reading Steal and I knew I couldn't sleep without knowing the ending! Emerson's story pulled me in from the start and I fell in love with the characters almost instantly. The humor was genuinely funny and I laughed out loud on a few occasions, besides, I honestly couldn't think of anyone who has the comeback skills to level Sanchez.

On the contrary, love triangles aside, the only other problem I had with the book was the characters' ages. I had a hard time adjusting to the fact that the characters are in their mid to late twenties as they sometimes behaved like college students and not, well, adults. But maybe that's just me. It was after 12 a.m. after all :p

I love the writing but the story just wasn't my cup of tea. I'd definitely want to read the rest of the series though because 1) It's Rachel Van Dyken! and 2) that epilogue is a freaking cliffhanger!

For fans of angsty romance with love triangles, I highly recommend you to check this one out!

To be honest, I had high hopes for this title after reading the blurb and the good reviews/ratings on Goodreads, plus I can't resist a book with damaged heroines so this seemed like a promising read!

Unfortunately, while it was an okay-I-sort-of-enjoyed-it kind of read, it did not live up to my expectations. In fact, the starting was relatively slow and I almost DNF-ed it, but I'm glad that the story picked up after the first few chapters, although the ending fell a little short too.

I like the writing and the idea of the story but I was having a tough time relating to Ollie. It pains me to see how she hangs around toxic people who takes her for granted and also for being handed a crappy hand at life, but it's the way she handled herself that doesn't sit well with me. On the other hand, I completely adore Brooks for his character and he is one of the main reason why I was driven to finish the book.

Overall, it was a good read, but I was slightly let down that it wasn't as I expected. Nevertheless, I will be looking forward to more of Olive East's future works!

The Kennedy Boys go wild on vacation in Ireland!

I gotta admit, this sounds like pure heaven! After all the drama and crapstorm that hit the Kennedy household, I say they deserved a vacation and what's the best place to start other than Ireland? I was excited to start the novella hoping that it would be an extended epilogue to Faye and Kyler's whirlwind romance and I got more than I bargained for, it's definitely heartwarming to read how in love they both really are! I was also excited to be reading more about Ireland as I've always wanted to visit there someday.

Of course, the Kennedy's wouldn't be complete without drama. Wherever they go, mayhem ensues, and even a vacation to Ireland couldn't prevent the inevitable. While I enjoy a good dose of drama, I felt that it may have dampened my excitement for the novella and I couldn't fully immerse myself into the story, hence my lower rating. Nevertheless, the snippets from the other Kennedy's boys stories, including Brad, made up for it and I found myself geared up for their release!

Overall, The Irish Getaway was a fun addition to the addicting series and I'm still pacing a hole for Saving Brad.

The Funeral Flower is a quick read, albeit a little too quick for my liking.

At first glance, the blurb and cover seem to be a promising read, which is why I jumped into requesting the book without a second thought. The Funeral Flower is a coming of age story that deals with sensitive issues including bullying, and while nothing is elaborately described, it may be too dark for some young adult readers out there. Though, I was enjoying myself because I got slightly emotional from the plot.

Being my first read from new-to-me author Michelle Jester, she certainly did leave a good impression in my mind and I do like her writing style. However, it was the pace of the story that bothered me. I wished that certain scenes in the book were given more thought and time in its development, it seems as if too much was happening too fast, and that was a huge bummer for me.

Overall, it was a good read and recommended to YA readers who wanted to venture into the darker corners of YA literature.

Another sweet and fun read by Entangled Teen that centers around friends becoming lovers.

Although the story was fairly predictable, it had a few laughs and swoon-worthy moments that will definitely make your heart flutter. Being best friends since young, the easiness in Malina and Jackson's friendship was what made their relationship so believable and real. I loved their banter, Jackson's obsession towards Tutu's food (my favorite character - she's such a wise woman) and Malina's passion in astrophysics, they seemed like people who I'd love to get to know in real life!

However, as much as I liked the author's writing and the prospect of a friends-to-lovers romance, I wasn't as convinced about Jackson and Malina as a couple, or specifically, the turning point in which they became a couple. Maybe it's just me, but I thought things just escalated too quickly from the "accidental kiss".

Overall, a quick and cute read that I'll recommend to young adult romance lovers!

Tell her how you feel.

“I don’t want you to date him, okay?”

She scoffed. “Yeah. Like you have any say in who I date, Mr. Player. Okay. Let’s hear it. Why don’t you want me to date Troy?”

The truth came out before I could stop it. “Because I like you, okay?”

“What?” Malina demanded, as if she hadn’t heard me right.

My cheeks warmed. “Because I like you. Me. I like you. I don’t want you to go out with him because I want you to go out with me.” I braced myself for her reaction. For laughing. For pity. For her to run far, far away. Instead, I got more yelling.

“Yeah, well I like you, too!”

Everything stopped. My brain. My heart. My lungs. Cause of death: shock. “What?”

“I like you! Why do you think I said all of those things about you and Krista at dinner? You know I’m not a jerk! You know I wouldn’t do that out of revenge for everything you were saying! It’s because I like you and I didn’t want to see you with her!” She huffed in frustration. “God, every time you put your hand on her arm…”

“I wanted to be putting my hand on you instead!”

“Well I didn’t know that!”

“Well now you do!”

“Fine!”

Just like that, with my heart threatening to explode with anger and frustration and surprise and some of the most intense desire I’d ever felt in my life, I lunged over the center console and kissed her. Hard. Not like that first kiss. Not something she could see as an accident. Not something I had to or wanted to apologize for, but a real, lip-crushing, soul-melting, heart-bursting, desperate kiss. And she kissed me back just as desperately.
