It was right out of one of my movies: 

Tropical island, sexy single man, two hot nights of nameless passion. 

Except instead of falling into each other's arms, we went our separate ways, never to be seen again. 

Of course I thought about him all the time. The way he laughed, the way he saw right through me, the way he took no shit as his strong hands roamed my body. If there was one night I could repeat, it would be that one. 

I never expected to see my mystery man again. 

Fast forward to my new movie set and the handsome property owner. Yep, same guy. Same sexy, sexy guy. Our chemistry is still off the charts but there’s one tiny problem: he doesn’t trust me. 

Okay, so I skipped a few important details. I don’t blame the guy. But they were just little white lies. Unfortunately if I want that movie-perfect ending I’m going to have to set the record straight...and hopefully have a little fun in the process.

Most nights, when I close my eyes, my dreams are filled with memories from my past life, the one I lived before this. I remember who I was and the people in that life, and I don't want any part of this one. Everly Hope Davis isn't who I want to be, but she's who I am. In the beginning I fought against her and everything in her world, but it's impossible to hate something when you're living it every day, when the people involved make it a life worth living. I'm trying to make the best of it now, but deep down I know this life isn't mine.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. High school romance cravings fixed!

Yes, I'm a huge softy for pretty covers and friends-to-lovers stories, so what if I finished the book in one sitting? It was addictive! 

Before I dive into my reasons for loving the story, I just wanted to get the bad ones out because it's like an annoying fly looming over my chest. SO here goes! 

As much as I adored Jenny and Chance, I didn't give it a five-stars rating because I never once viewed Chance as a bad boy, and his so-called player reputation wasn't as convincing as the story led on to be. I also cringed a little at the turning point of the story (which could easily be avoided with something as simple as communication) so I was frustrated at so many things that Jenny and Chance missed out on just because of a few assumptions. But hey, they are in high school and behaving like actual teenagers. 

Now that I got that out of the way, I really bought into the whole fake friends story. I loved how effortless Jenny and Chance can make up stories of their childhood past and their chemistry was genuine and believable. I adore every moment they spent together and it made everything just fade away! Although it took them a few tumbles to find their way to each other, their story is one that will put a smile on your face.

Racer McKay is a broody bastard.

A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder.

Racer McKay is also infuriatingly . . . sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time.

Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We’re hot, we’re cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don’t want him. We’re on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we’re finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.

Regardless of the cost, I will have her. I’ll sacrifice everything to ensure it.

And, I’ll destroy anyone who stands in my way.
