Publication date: January 9th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult
Liza Petrov’s entire life has been about skating and winning her sport’s top prize – Olympic gold. She’s stayed sheltered inside her bubble, not daring to stray from her destined path.
Until she meets Braden Patrick.
He makes her heart flutter with possibility, and for the first time she gets a taste of a normal teenage life. She longs to have both the boy and the gold, but stepping outside her bubble comes with a price. As Liza begins to question both her future and her past, can she stay focused on the present and realize her ultimate dream?
I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book provided by Xpresso Book Tours and the author. Thank you so much for the reviewing opportunity and reminding me of how youthful love makes us feel.
I'm new to Comeaux's works therefore I have no expectations when it comes to the writing. However, I was taken by surprise by how much I came to love this sweet and heartwarming story, especially when the author featured my favorite Olympic Sport - figure skating.
Figure skaters, like ballerinas, always seemed so poised and elegant. Every move they made seemed so precise and effortless it distracted us from thinking about the hard work they put in to perfect the triple twist in the air. Liza was a take on reality.
I enjoyed reading Liza's journey in training to become the best Olympic figure skater, however, it was definitely not an easy task and yet strenuous training schedule is all she have known. Until Braden. I liked the fact that their relationship is built based on friendship with a side of sizzling chemistry, I just can't get enough of them!
Between strict and overprotective parents to exploring first loves, Gold Rush was a fun and pleasant read that gets you on an emotional roller coaster.
Definitely recommended to young adults who love a clean, sports romance.
Jennifer Comeaux is a tax accountant by day, writer by night. There aren’t any ice rinks near her home in south Louisiana, but she’s a diehard figure skating fan and loves to write stories of romance set in the world of competitive skating. One of her favorite pastimes is traveling to competitions, where she can experience all the glitz and drama that inspire her writing. When she’s not writing, traveling, or calculating taxes, you can find her feeding her television addiction.
