Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny
(Taking Shots #4)
Author: Cindi Madsen
Genre: Sports Romance, Contemporary, New Adult
Expected Publication: May 8th 2017
Publisher: Entangled Embrace

Confession #1: I used to be a puck bunny, but after a hockey player broke my heart, I gave up all things hockey. Now I'm just focused on finding a way to pass my math class so I can graduate college.

Confession #2: Ryder "Ox" Maddox's deep, sexy voice sends fuzzy tingles through my entire body, and I'm powerless to stop it. Which is a big problem since the hot, surprisingly funny hockey player is my new math tutor.

Confession #3: I can't stop thinking about how ripped Ryder is from all his hockey training, and how fun it'd be to cross lines with him.

Confession #4: I kissed a hockey player and I liked it.

Confession #5: If I'm not careful, I might relapse and fall for Ryder, and then I'll be totally pucked.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by Entangled Embrace and the author. Thank you so much for the reviewing opportunity!

I feel like I have to reinstate the fact that I'm a huge sucker for sports romance, I guess that makes me a literary puck bunny in some sense?

Hot jock falling for the outcast girl - cliche as hell - but I swear that gets to me every.single.time.

Besides, who could resist the temptation of hot abs and jock-ish personality that these athletes always seemed to exude?

*Coughs* Excuse my inner hormone-induced fangirl, the one who google hot guys to ogle at (not that it's creepy stalkerish or anything).. Haha..JUST KIDDING.

Lindsay Rivera was a former puck bunny who sworn off men - hot and sexy hockey players in particular - after being burned by a hockey player who she assumed she was in love with. Left heartbroken and determined not to rely on men like her mother, she worked hard to score the internship in an editorial firm in New York. There's only one problem though. While she is stellar at words, it's the numbers that turned her brain into a mush, and she can't graduate if she keeps failing math. She certainly did not expect Ryder "Ox' Maddox to be her math tutor. Jocks shouldn't be a closet math nerd, right? But as she spent more time during with him during their tutoring sessions, she realized that failing math is not the only problem. Is relapsing into his world worth the risk?

If there's one person who puts the letter i in determination, it's definitely Ryder (can I also bring up the fact how hot his name is?). Ryder was an incredibly sweet and romantic character who I fell in love with from the start. Even though his advances were repeatedly rejected by Lindsay, he was patient and thoughtful enough to not overstep the boundaries and forced her into an uncomfortable position, which earned him huge Oxy points for behaving like a true gentleman. Their relationship was like a lighting spark from the start, but I loved it that they took their time exploring each other instead of jumping wildly into bed, or shower in their case the first chance they got. It was the subtle brush against the cheeks and the almost kisses that made their relationship real.

For a girl who thought she was a waste of space, Lindsay often depended on men to fill in the empty hole in her heart before it was shattered and she was left to pick up the pieces. My heart broke for how lonely and rejected she must have always felt, and that was why I adore Ryder to pieces for pulling her out of of her shell. Oh they are so beautiful! I love their passion and banter as they put a huge smile on my face.

And can I gush over my favorite scene ever?

O.M.G Read the book and you'll know what I mean. *stares at paint and laughs sheepishly*

Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
