Charade Tour Stop - Tour of Italy

by - Tuesday, June 05, 2012

I am so excited to be here today during Tour of Italy for the Charade Blog tour. Charade is the second book in the Heven and Hell series and in this book the main characters travel to Italy on a school trip… and because Heven and Sam have a mission to complete.

For today’s Tour of Italy Post I have brought along a page from Heven’s travel journal. So sit back and relax and be transported to Italy!

Dear Diary,

We went to my most favorite place on this trip today! We visited the leaning Tower of Pisa. I am so amazed that the building doesn’t just topple right over!

The tour guide told us that it was always meant to stand straight that there was something wrong in the foundation (actually its just a weak foundation) that caused it to begin to lean. Back in the 1920’s  a bunch of workers added cement and stuff to stabilize it so it wouldn’t fall over all the way.

I kind of think it’s meant to be leaning and that it wouldn’t be as special if it was straight up and down and perfect. In fact, I have learned over the past few months that a lot of things are better if they aren’t perfect… including me.

This was a really special day because Cole and I got to spend some great quality time together and that means a lot to me after everything we have been through together. It’s even more special that Sam can be part of it all.

Anyway, I kind of think the Tower of Pisa looks like a giant wedding cake that is about to fall over. While I was standing beneath it I kept imagining hunks of yummy icing about to fall on my head.

The tower took over 200 years to build  because it kept getting interrupted by wars. Leave it to the baddies to interrupt a good time. It started to tilt when the third story was built and it just kept on leaning. Then they added the bells on top which made it tilt even more, ha ha ha.

This place will definitely be something I won’t foget because it isn’t everyday you get to tour a building made of marble that seems to defy the laws of gravity.

Here is my favorite picture from the day (it’s of me and Cole)

Here’s a picture of just the tower:

It was a great day in Italy I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Heven

And that is an exclusive peak at one of the pages of Heven’s travel diary. Be sure to follow along on the Tour of Italy week to see all the exclusive pictures of Heven and Sam (and Cole!) during their trip and on the final day of the tour you will be able to enter to win a One of a Kind, super exclusive (I don’t even have one) swag. Heven’s Travel Diary. Complete with each journal entry and all the pictures of her and Sam! There will be other goodies as well.

About the book:

Dying at the hands of a psycho was a shock. Having my life returned to me by an angel was incredible. Being named a Supernatural Treasure and being given Sam as my guard was pretty darn awesome. Acquiring a debt for it all—well, I should have seen it coming.

Now here we are, fighting demons from Hell, caring for a boy that I just don’t trust, and traveling to faraway places to return a treasure to its rightful place. Nothing is as it seems. Everyone wears a mask; everyone puts on a charade. It’s up to us to separate the truth from the lies and reality from fiction. A hard task when my new reality involves fallen angels, witches and dragons… and did I mention Hell?
Anchoring me down through it all is Sam. Sam, who must face tragedies of his own and is put to the test again and again.

If we fail in our task, life as we know it—life as you know it—will end. Forever.

Thank you Cambria for this amazing blog post! Though I have never been to Paris nor have I ever been on top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, I would kill to go someday.

I apologize for not updating my blog as frequently as before, as you know, I am currently buried in a pile of books that I don't really like, and exams are nearing so I won't have as much time to blog as before! But I am very glad that I have been given this opportunity to participate in the Charade Blog Tour! Masquerade was the first blog tour I have ever participated in so this is such a historical moment for me.

Congratulations to Cambria on her sequel to the series, Charade, and hopefully everyone who reads this post will join in the family! Trust me, you will not regret. [serious tone]

Unfortunately, I am still halfway through Charade and I will post my review soon! All I know is that....my review might be filled with girly exclamations, so, just for the heads up.

Did I mention how awesome Cambria is?
