About the Book

Los Angeles attorneys Grant Perry and Liz Teeny were once in love, until youth and circumstance tore them apart. Ten years later, they’re reunited while working on an important trial. He’s successful and handsome, but childhood demons haunt him. Liz, lonely and driven, has devoted her life to work.

When unexpected personal events bring them to River Valley, they learn of family secrets that could change their lives forever. How will what they learn impact their lives? Will these secrets bring healing or more heartbreak? Is it too late for a second chance?

The fifth installment in Tess Thompson’s beloved River Valley Series explores themes of family, home, and the way childhood trauma can follow you into adulthood. Old friends from previous books, an epic love story, and a dash of mystery will keep you smiling as you turn the pages of this feel-good, small-town romance. Despite being part of a series, Riverstorm may be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Like her characters in the River Valley Collection, Tess Thompson hails from a small town in southern Oregon, and will always feel like a small town girl, despite the fact she’s lived in Seattle for over twenty-five years. She loves music and dancing, books and bubble baths, cooking and wine, movies and snuggling. She cries at sappy commercials and thinks kissing in the rain should be done whenever possible. Although she tries to act like a lady, there may or may not have been a few times in the last several years when she’s gotten slightly carried away watching the Seattle Seahawks play, but that could also just be a nasty rumor. She currently lives in a suburb of Seattle, Washington with her brand new husband, the hero of her own love story, and their Brady Bunch clan of two sons, two daughters and five cats, all of whom keep her too busy, often confused, but always amazed. Yes, that’s four kids, three of whom are teenagers, and five cats. Pray for her.

My Review

Ratings: 5 River Valley Stars

New-to-me author Tess Thompson has won me over with Riverstormand you bet that I'm going to be heading to River Valley with the rest of the series soon!

At the time I started reading, I was so surprised to find that this book has nothing short of 5 stars rating, therefore no kidding when my expectations were running high! Especially when it's a second chance romance kind of novel (my ultimate damnation).

Although it took me a couple of days of slow reading and savoring, I all but wanted to jump back into the story again for a reread! That's how much Grant and Lizzie made an impact on my poor soul.

Through the thick and thin, the ups and downs, I am in love with the story and the writing. Author Tess Thompson created a beautiful series that is both nostalgic and romantic, leaving readers craving for more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by LWoods PR and the author. Thank you for the reviewing opportunity!
