My Review

Ratings: 3.5 stars

To be honest, I had high hopes for this title after reading the blurb and the good reviews/ratings on Goodreads, plus I can't resist a book with damaged heroines so this seemed like a promising read!

Unfortunately, while it was an okay-I-sort-of-enjoyed-it kind of read, it did not live up to my expectations. In fact, the starting was relatively slow and I almost DNF-ed it, but I'm glad that the story picked up after the first few chapters, although the ending fell a little short too.

I like the writing and the idea of the story but I was having a tough time relating to Ollie. It pains me to see how she hangs around toxic people who takes her for granted and also for being handed a crappy hand at life, but it's the way she handled herself that doesn't sit well with me. On the other hand, I completely adore Brooks for his character and he is one of the main reason why I was driven to finish the book.

Overall, it was a good read, but I was slightly let down that it wasn't as I expected. Nevertheless, I will be looking forward to more of Olive East's future works!

Hand me a tissue because this book gives you all sorts of feels!

A heartwarming tale of two people in love finding their way to each other. Max and Lia's story is guaranteed to have you grinning from ear to ear and blushing from head to toe with their electrifying chemistry. Jam packed with humor, romance, family drama and an awfully adorable baby - the author created just the right kind of mix for a perfect contemporary romance to satisfy your romance cravings.

I especially loved it when the author portrayed Lia as a strong and independent woman who works hard towards her goal and wouldn't let any man, even Max, to sway her from achieving her dreams. I also loved that Max isn't all caveman-like and goes Neatherdal on Lia by controlling her life, but is mature enough to step back and gives her the space she needs to find herself. Despite the player reputation Max has built himself around, he is absolutely ~~mouthwatering~~ a gentleman as a reformed player!

The only reason I gave the rating short of five stars is that I was actually curious about Lia's past but did not find it to be fully explained in the story. Then again, I did not read the first book in the series and from the timeline it may have happened in Collin and Addie's story, so I'm definitely checking out the rest of the series! Speaking of, I need Gavin's story right now.

P.S. I'd love to have a bro-squad like Gavin, Collin and Max. They are hilariously charming! (well, except for Gav's occasional grumpy a**, hehe).

The Kennedy Boys go wild on vacation in Ireland!

I gotta admit, this sounds like pure heaven! After all the drama and crapstorm that hit the Kennedy household, I say they deserved a vacation and what's the best place to start other than Ireland? I was excited to start the novella hoping that it would be an extended epilogue to Faye and Kyler's whirlwind romance and I got more than I bargained for, it's definitely heartwarming to read how in love they both really are! I was also excited to be reading more about Ireland as I've always wanted to visit there someday.

Of course, the Kennedy's wouldn't be complete without drama. Wherever they go, mayhem ensues, and even a vacation to Ireland couldn't prevent the inevitable. While I enjoy a good dose of drama, I felt that it may have dampened my excitement for the novella and I couldn't fully immerse myself into the story, hence my lower rating. Nevertheless, the snippets from the other Kennedy's boys stories, including Brad, made up for it and I found myself geared up for their release!

Overall, The Irish Getaway was a fun addition to the addicting series and I'm still pacing a hole for Saving Brad.
