My second read from the author and you can consider me smitten.

I binge read on sports romance and while I've come across some really terrible ones, I can safely say that this series got me hooked.

After reading Hat Trick, I needed a Brayden's book so badly because I felt there were so many questions left unanswered, that was why I jumped at the chance to review Cross Checked because I just.needed.to.know.

To be honest, I love the plot, it is everything I hoped and expected it to be and the fact that Brayden was one of my favorite characters just made it, even more, sweeter. Brayden was incredibly protective of his sister, and I adore Karla for her dedication to her passion.

However, similar to the first installment, the story felt a little bit too rushed. I love Brayden and Karla, but there's something about the development of their relationship that bugged me. I felt as if they jumped into the relationship too quickly and because of that it fell short.

Nevertheless, it was a quick and enjoyable read!

Although this can be read as a standalone, I feel it is best if you read Hat Trick first to get a full picture of the story.
