Title: Damned if I don't
(The Harker Trilogy #2)
Author: Erin Hayes
Genres: Paranormal Romance, Vampires, Dark
Published: March 2016

I may be a vampire hunter.

But I’ve single-handedly screwed up big time.

After botching our chance to cure vampirism and the infection that’s killing me, I’m at a loss. My cousin Carl won’t speak to me. The bastard who killed my sister is still alive. And Jude, the amnesiac vampire, says he’s in love with me.

What’s even more shocking is that I love him back.

But the more Jude learns about his past, the more it will tear our relationship and our lives apart. I’m running out of time to find a new successor to become the new Progenitor. Because when I die, it’s game over for all of us.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book provided by Xpresso Book Tours and the publisher. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

I stand firm with my thoughts. This series just gets darker and grittier with each chapter. There were moments in the book where I had to stop a second, put it down, stare blankly at the wall while my thoughts went on a rampaging strike.

 "Did that just f***ing happened?"

With the ending of the first book, this book continued from the tragedy that struck Edie and her family. If you think she had been through the worst, you are horribly wrong. This book proved  exactly just that.

The writing was vividly gruesome (did not disappoint) and I was genuinely appalled (which is a good thing!), I could actually hear and feel desperation and hopelessness in the character's voice, and that gave this series a major plus point.

And please let me take a second to appreciate the cover, they are the first thing that got me into reading this trilogy anyway - HOLY COVER!

The Harker Trilogy leaves you thirsty for more!

  1. This one got a bit too dark for me at parts, but it really was a great read and after that ending I am really curious how book 3 will be.

    1. I do agree this book was even more gruesome and darker than before (I was surprised!), I can't wait to see how the author wrap up the trilogy :) It's just so addicting!
