THE TRUTH DOESN'T ALWAYS SET YOU FREE

I’ve fallen hard for an alien, but he’s harboring secrets.
Massive secrets that threaten the very essence of humanity.
How can I give him my heart when his race plans on taking my future?

Sadie Owens has been slowly dying inside. Bit by bit, piece by piece, day by day. Trapped in a life she hates, she relies on only one person—herself.

Despised by her family and betrayed by an unscrupulous government, Sadie dreams of a different life. When she is chosen to participate in the government’s new social experiment, she is ecstatic at the prospect of spending six months in Thalassic City, the shiny new city under the sea.

Immediately drawn to Logan Chandler, Sadie is captivated by the beautiful boy with the ocean-blue eyes. Logan seems to embody everything that has been forbidden, but he isn’t all he appears to be.

Confused over Logan’s true intentions and concerned when best friend Jenna starts transforming in front of her eyes, Sadie partners with newcomer Jarod in a bid to uncover the government’s real agenda. The truth is more shocking than anything she could ever have imagined.

When Sadie finally understands why the Saven walk among us, will it be too late to save her heart and the human race?

The heir to the Lux series.

It has been a long while since I've read my last dystopian/alien novel and I all but forgotten the thrill of it. Siobhan Davis reignited my love for sci-fi with Saven and it has quickly become one of the series that I am devoted to read till the end!

Space and the extraterrestrial was an alienated term in my bookish vocabulary, as compared to vampires, werewolves and faeries, I was least exposed to these creatures until I discovered the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Ever since then, I had subconsciously compared any "alien"related books to the series, although I know as a reviewer, I had to remain impartial. Therefore, it was such a shocking surprise to find myself loving Saven as much as I do with the Lux series, and to me, that accounts for a "huge" something.

I am new to Davis' works thus I went into the book without bearing any expectations, what I certainly did not expect was how captivating the writing was. From the first page, the book immediately pulled you into a world so vivid I felt as if I was living in it. Sadie was portrayed as an outcast in her society, deemed as the black sheep of the family and was called a freak, Sadie joined "The Experimento" to seek for a better future, but the future she longed for may not be what she expected.

I really loved the setting of the story, with Davis' impeccable description, imagining the scenes where the stories took place was never difficult. Although the build up of the story was rather slow for me, I really liked how the pace picked up later on in the story (as a proof, I did stayed up till 4am).

That was me the next morning.
I also loved the originality of the storyline, although there were several scenes where I was disappointed in, such as the way how Sadie and Logan were introduced and the underdeveloped relationship between Sadie and Jenna (I never really gotten the BFF vibe), it was the plot that got me rooted. The story itself was mysterious and intriguing, one would thought that with all the years of reading experience we can simply figure out an entire book based on the few hints an author dropped for us in the front chapters, but Saven held its own and the reveal was just revolutionary! (I may be exaggerating here, but it was mind blowing in my opinion).

5 stars for the cover and originality!

I literally could not put down the book and was desperate to get my hands on the next book of the series. Definitely recommending this to the alien readers out there who loves a little bit of ET with romantic and political twists!

I write young adult science fiction fantasy romance books, and I’m the author of the Amazon bestselling True Calling series. The first book in my new Saven series will be released in December 2015. A self-professed teenager forever—at least when it comes to books, music, and films, I am totally addicted to teen fiction and superhero/blockbuster movies. I love baking, shoes, bags, makeup, anti-wrinkle cream, anything pink, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, and Robert Pattinson (definitely Team Edward). Before pursuing a full-time writing career, I forged a successful corporate career in Human Resources over the last twenty years. I live in the Garden County of Ireland with my husband and two sons.
